The Campaign Trail

Eight years ago, a Budweiser commercial was aired on television, showing a group of friends drinking a bud, socializing and having fun. They greeted each other with the line "WAZZAP?!?!!!" and in the end, one of the friends responds to a phone call from a friend; "Watchin the game... havin a bud...". Eight years later, the commercial is reused as a campaign ad for Obama. The commercial shows the same people in the other "WAZZAP?!?!!!" commercial but they are shown experiencing the negative effects of George Bush's government. The friends lost their jobs, lost their money because of the poor economy and experienced hurricanes. One of the friends was participating in the war in Iraq and had no idea about what was happening back home. Like the other commercial, they greeted each other with the usual "WAZZAP?!?!!!" and in the end, when one friend asks the other "So whats up B?", the other looks at the TV and sees Obama greeting the American people. He replies: "Change... change's what's up." This commercial is powerful and people can relate to it because it shows the problems that America is facing right now and it is funny. The commercial's message was that voting for Obama would bring change for the better in America. I am glad that Obama was voted as the next President and I hope that there will be some good that comes out of it. It's time for change.
